Precision engineering technologies has accepted a commission to retrofit an OpenCNC control to a six spindle kuhlmann engraving machine. The machine currently producing fine engraving work had suffered from control obsolescence and poor accuracy for some time.
The complete electrics cabinet will be replaced as will the servo system. The new servos will be Yaskawa AC servos with motor power of 900w and torque of 5Nm , supplied and tuned by Goodwin Electronics. The CNC controller will feature a remote operator system with the PC located in the electrics cabinet.
